somebody told me, the biggest heat problem with the 1993 7.3 IDI comes not from the engine, it comes from the transmission. I was told to install a big transmission cooler instead of the fabric installed one.
The combined weight with our 5th wheel is between 18,000 and 19,000 lbs.
There are various aftermarket tranny coolers out there, does somebody have a recommendation??
The cooler should come with new hose. You want to put the aux. cooler in line with the cooler in the radiator. From trans to radiator cooler out to aux. cooler, an back to trans.
yes the new cooler comes with new hose. that chunk of hose you can see in my pics in my first link is what comes with it. i had to buy a 5/16" diam length of hose though. i used the 3/8" that came with the cooler, but needed more so i got the 5/16 which is the size of the metal lines coming from the trans. surprisingly the 5/16" hose fit just fine over the 3/8" hose barb on the cooler.
yeah you want to put this aux cooler after the cooler in the rad.
nice. now when ever you want to post a pic from there into a post on here, hover over the image you want and you will see the 'img code", just click on that and then come to the post and hit paste.
