1996 VIN decode request

Well I sold my 73 F100 and bought this 96 F150 supercab 4x4. Its a creampuff.

Hey thanks man. That is a nice feature. Hopefully NumberDummy will drop buy and enlighten me on trans type, and axles and what not.

That's an E4OD trans with a 3800 pound cap 3:55 open diff rear.

front axle is a Dana 44 ifs, rear axle will either be a 8.8 or 9 inch.
but if i remember correctly the 96 should have the 8.8

Hee hee That made me laugh man. Thats good. Dexron/Mercron is my least favorite fluid to have on my skin. I was more scared but less upset when my crotch was soaked with pure ethanol. (used to work on tanker trucks/trailers) I just dont like transmission fluid at all.
