I searched the site and found a few old threads about adding a lock box/safe to a SD. I got some good ideas from the threads and pics and went to work on my own.
Sorry I don't have specs on the safe - it was an eBay deal for under $50 bucks. I had to move the safe's door handle and drill 4 holes in the back (bottom) to mount. I mounted it using the same 4 points the console uses - But I upgraded the hardware (again, no pics of the in-progress work).
Once it was in place and mounted, I used some dense foam to fill the gap between the safe and console. This gave me a small "shelf" for things to sit on, next to the safe.
Here are the finished pics.
It's tough to tell in the pics, but when sitting in the driver's seat, I can open the console lid and then punch my combo in to the keypad and the safe door opens from left to right.
