How long does regen take. Today on the way to work the dash said "Cleaning exhaust filter". I drove an extra 10 miles. I think that was enough?
I don't have have the nice info center that tells you when the regen is done.

without something like the CTS you really can only tell by the mileage indicator. if you dont have that option on your particular truck then 10-15 minutes should be enough time to complete the regen.
I was watching the MGP displays. I saw MPG go back up. I drove it another 4 miles after that. Ford really needs to put in a indicator on the dash for the a Regen. This is the second time I have seen the message in 1300 miles. I am sure I have missed one or two regens.
I Guess I will get the CTS, whats a good price and a place to buy one?
I have never had one take over 15 minutes the year I've had my CTS but I've not timed it.
I just know the AR alert light on my CTS is off before 15 minutes is up.
That is something that Ford needs to address. The DIC tells so much information. How about one more to tell the status of the exhaust filter? It could just be a simple screen telling you if it's cleaning or not. I'm sure they didn't do it because they didn't want to draw attention to it as it might make this new engine seem more complicated, but it seems that most of us here would like the information.
P.S. Report actual tire pressure for each tire (duals included) and they will buy it.

WHY? It's just not that big of a deal to shut down in the middle of a regen.
Unless you get the "Drive to Clean" message (that does stay on the screen) I wouldn't worry about it. It will restart the regen the next time the soot % hits the predefined trigger level.
To me it is better to finish any process once started. I think of it like a self cleaning oven. If you stop in the middle it harder to clean the next time.
Of course I Know very little on the subject. If I can I would like to it to finish the process. I did order a cts for the truck
If you read in the owner’s manual it say regen stops when truck get below 30MPH so it should be somewhat cooled down by then. Second when towing with your trucks egt are going to be as hot or hotter. So do you let your truck cool down after towing?
I cancel a regen without hesitation if I need to but I let engine temps cool down.
I still don't know what Ford thinks is a safe shutdown temp on EGT1.
I like to shut down under 400F and an AR will keep EGT1 around 550F under 50 MPH.
It will still be 500F when I pull into a parking spot at work.
I will put it in park to cancel the regen but I wait for it to cool down.
If I'm in a hurry, I may shut down at 430F ish.
The only thing I've noticed is when an AR is cancelled, the soot builds up fairly quickly.
