So when does the bed go on? I always thought the black was the nicest color for a stepside. Nice work on the project and good job finding that bar for 75.

I am not sure...seeing as I am broke because of this 460 build, it may be awhile.

I am thinking of going ahead and getting my new rear wiring harness and gas tank sending unit and putting the bed on as is. This way, I can get my wiring fixed, put the bed on, install taillights, adjust bumper and have exhaust my exhaust run.

Would it be too ignorant to drive around with a finished black front and dented/blue bed? lol

ignorant? No way. I think it's your truck & do what you want. People will probably understand it's a work in progress. Not that what they think matters anyway.

I think a lot of us are working on our trucks as money and time allows. In the mean time, we have functioning vehicles (some of the time). The opinions of the people you would actually care about would completely understand and appreciate what your doing. The rest probably won't even notice.

Can't wait to see how you like the frame exit headers if they ever arrive. I'm really not sure which way to go.

They are already in buddy. NO issues at all with clearance. Fitment was flawless.

Water Pump pulley was wrong, so I ordered a new billet one. Hooray for one shiny pulley, one gold pulley from L&L and two black pulleys hahahaa

Only a couple hours later and my pulley has shipped. So far, good experience with CVF Racing.

Tomorrow, or whenever my money hits my account, I'll be ordering a new sending unit from DC, a rear wiring harness, and a tail light/sidemarker set from MrTaillight.

Then I can get the bed on so I can stop driving this dumb half truck haha

Well today I purchased some goodies so I can get everything ready for the bed to go on.

From Mr Tail Light I order a rear taillight harness and a taillight kit. Have heard good things about the kit from jtindale and maul on this site, plus it was only $60 and comes with 2 taillights, 2 side markers, all gaskets and screws. The taillight harness looks top notch and should solve my butchered wiring issues. ALL MADE IN USA.

Harness: MrTailLight.com Online Store

Taillight Kit: MrTailLight.com Online Store

Then I hopped onto Dennis Carpenter and ordered a new fuel tank sending unit and a 'Bed to Frame' bolt kit.

So I would say by end of next week, I should have a good running 460 with my bed attached. I'll update as parts come in and go on the truck.

woo hoo! sounds like she's about ready to get back on the road! You could always rattle can the bed black. It would probably look good from 40ft away. As previously mentioned, people will know it's a work in progress. The rest of the truck looks great!

For sure, just gotta wait till I get my pulleys so I can break the cam in. Don't want to run it anymore until then.
