For sure man, I'm up in the Chicago area for the next few weeks but will be back in about 3 weeks. I doubt I will have my 79 ready to go yet, but I would still love to see your tuck. It's coming along really nice.

Progress in the last couple days. Got the short block assembled and put the heads on today on the 460. Waiting on some new manifold bolts for the Edelbrock RPM Air Gap intake. Motor should be running by the middle of next week. Just mainly waiting on headers from L & L.

Been running this combo for many yrs and really like! Just recently did a 400 ford with air gap from 351 cleveland and spacer plates. got big expectations for 400. what camshaft/compression? In my avatar is my big blue with stout 472 with air gap and many other upgrades. what carb. the air gap has a spread bore inlet and need an adapter if running a squarebore carb.

Not sure on compression, but the cam is a custom grind from Demos. The spec sheet is with the cam, but Ill see if I can find that paper. It is healthy. Also, for a carb, I am running a Holley 3310SA 750cfm. It will be a 400-450ish hp motor. Mild build. Going to work on it today.

No pics and I know I should have taken some, but I was tired. Tested all morning for Department of Juvenile Justice and then worked all night on the motor.

We got the heads, intake, and carb on. Motor set in the truck. Looks like it belongs there. STILL waiting on headers and power steering pump bracket. Should have it buttoned up in another week or so.

Hope you are ready Mike.

Quick little update. Really just a worthless update, but I want to, so deal with it! lol

Cleaned up the thermostat housing. Aluminum colored Engine Paint works fairly well for doing clean up on old parts you want to reuse. Sorry for phone pics.

More updates tomorrow and Monday!

Begin Rant:

Just a FYI, if you are wanting L & L headers, order now, because it will taker forever to get them. I ordered them on the 13th and was told they would be shipped the 26th. I thought, well I can wait two weeks, whatever. I call back on the 20th trying to figure out where my alt bracket, oil pan, oil pump, dipstick, pickup tube, etc was...they told me it would be her tomorrow and the headers would be shipped out the first. Again, ok I guess. I email on the first to get a tracking number for my headers..no response. I email again on the 3rd and finally get an answer today...she says, "I will have my shipping manager get in contact with you tomorrow to get a exact date."

I assume this means I wont have headers for another 2 weeks or more. So much fun having a 460 ready to crank up and no headers...

End rant.
