Fix for noisy 'smog' pump
Take it off the truck, pull it apart and grease the bearings. It's a rotary bellows. There is no heat going through it. It doesn't compress any air so it uses almost no power. If it's broken internally a new 'used' one can be had for around $40 at most junkyards. They spin REALLY easily so it isn't a problem to check them for noise and function.
