I've got what was originally a chassis-cab, 84 F-350. It only has one fuel tank on the frame, the long rectangular one mounted on the driver's side.
I was curious what the official capacity of this tank is. I recently drained it completely to get my problematic homemade fuel out of there, and when I refilled it with pump diesel, the capacity turned out to be approximately 25 gallons. That surprised me; I was expecting no more than 19 or so.
This was filling it right to the brim, which of course takes forever. I think the difference between the pump cutoff and full-to-brim was about 3 gallons.
