i'm putting an '89 zf5 into my '97 fsd in place of the e4od. both trucks arre gas 460s.
it seems for the price of a new flywheel, its not worth it to cut the old one. $60 to cut the flywheel, less than $80 for a new, good name brand one.
that being said; if i buy a flywheel for a '97, is there any reason i cant put the larger 12.25" clutch the '97 truck would use in front of the '89 zf5 that originally used a 12" clutch? obviously i will be using a new clutch/PP.
i would guess that the flywheels are the same size, just with different holes drilled for the PP; and it wont mess with my starter
