I dident see any thread on this subject so I wanna see some homemade parts and tools you have made to work on your dentside. Heres the manual choke cable I made for my 1bbl carb. Saved 20 bucks.
I was wandering the JY and came upon a junked Dodge work van with a pair of ladder racks and "Ding!", a light bulb came on. I picked up the pair for $26, modified it a bit, and added about $10 worth of new hardware. The other light bar was sent to fellow FTE'er SuperDuty93. Cost: $23 each
Custom hitch cover made from scrap VW con rods and pistons. Cost: Free!
Billiard ball shift *****. Cost: $1 each at a swap meet.

Years ago when I rebuilt a 460, I made an "engine anti-rotation device," as I called it. It was a simple strip of 1/8" X 1" metal with two holes drilled in it. One end bolted to a hole in the flexplate, the other bolted to a bellhousing hole on the engine block. The holes were drilled in such a way that when it was on the engine, it held the crankshaft right at top dead center on the #1 cylinder. That way I could tighten the harmonic balancer and do other work without losing that setting.
A "leaf spring pin puller" for a '47 Dodge PW. The pins are headless and captured so you can't drive out from behind.
The leaf spring puller is a grease zerk with the nipple ground off welded to a short length of 3/8" all thread. Combined with a large deep well socket it pulled the pins right out by the zerk hole.
I made these tail light mounts for my flareside. I dident have any when i bought the truck. Dont mind the crooked holes im gonna fill em up and re drill them.. Im gonna repaint them black tomorrow to match the truck.

I made this vacuum canister for the heater controls. Scrap PVC I had laying around and 2 old barb fitting plus a little 5min epoxy. It's not pretty but it works
I also made a new joint for my old worn out steering shaft. Bought a few joints from tractor supply and modified the old shaft. It tightened things right up.

Do you think the the u joint you put on would fit on the steering box. I need to do something to fix mine. Did the splines line up?
