Sag, AC and M-block

Still no one makes a sag bracket for the M that fits with AC.
Wildhorses has one that fits without AC. I ordered this from JBG, as
it is cheaper and comes without the extension plate to water pump,
since this would need to be a custom part anyway.

Came unpainted and it did not have the nut welded to the back side of main plate. (so I'll end up welding one on myself and paint when I'm done).

Cut off tube on back end of bracket to make up for space that AC bracket takes up.

Pump and bracket fit in either outer hole in the head/AC bracket, but it fits better in the lower hole.

Had to elongate one of the holes that mounts to pump.

Bracket uses 1/2 in bolt, but head needs 7/16, so I tapped a std grd 1/2 in bolt for 7/16 thread.

Pump seems to fit well.

To clear the AC bracket bolt right above PS bracket, needed to cut out the back end of bracket.

Also had to clearance edge since this reservoir is used with factory hydroboost and is larger than your std sag pump.

Switched over to my parts motor to mock up extension plate.
Used 3/16 plate. Pretty straight forward, only needed a flat plate.
Will need a spacer for upper hole on water pump, which is recessed back some compared to the plate.

Pump fitted up with extension bracket.

Plenty of clearance to PS box.

Will take good measurements on the mods to main pump bracket and try to whip
up a CAD drawing for the extension plate.

I got all my brackets out of an 80 Econoline with a 351/400. Hope you didn't spend too much money.

I junked a 351M/400 that had ac and the sag pump, should have saved the brackets off it but that was some years back. That pump housing in the 10th pic down looks like it has a big crack in it ?

Anything with an M-block, except some 70's trucks are long gone in NJ. Even the late 80s are slim pickins after the steel prices went through the roof a few years back. Just offering this up as a pretty cheap alternative if you can't find van brackets.

Also, I notice you have the M van brackets on a 2WD. Tried to find some pics of those brackets with a 79, 1/2 ton 4WD box, but no luck......
