My 2012 XLT steering wheel audio controls are acting up, wondering it it's happened to anyone else. The other day I couldn't skip a track forward on the steering wheel, but I could go backward. That function has since returned to normal, but yesterday I lost the ability to increase volume. I could decrease it, but not increase it. Working normally again today. I have an appointment to have it looked at tomorrow, but with it working normally right now I can already hear their response "could not duplicate, no problem noted".
About 8 months ago I could not activate the cruise control at all. Then it would work 1 day and then not work for 3 days. I popped out the switch and blew it out the best that I could and since then it has been fine. Just a thought.
Sounds like something like going to the Dr. after you feel better. I have included a list of funnies to maybe make you feel better.
After every flight, UPS pilots fill out a form, called a "gripe sheet," which tells mechanics about problems with the aircraft. The mechanics correct the problems; document their repairs on the form, and then pilots review the gripe sheets before the next flight.
Never let it be said that ground crews lack a sense of humor. Here are some actual maintenance complaints submitted by UPS ' pilots (marked with a P) and the solutions recorded (marked with an S) by maintenance engineers. By the way, UPS is the only major airline that has never, ever, had an accident.
P: Left inside main tire almost needs replacement.
S: Almost replaced left inside main tire.
P: Test flight OK, except auto-land very rough.
S: Auto-land not installed on this aircraft.
P: Something loose in cockpit

S: Cannot reproduce problem on ground.
P: Evidence of leak on right main landing gear.
S: Evidence removed.
P: DME volume unbelievably loud.
S: DME volume set to more believable level.
P: Friction locks cause throttle levers to stick.
S: That's what friction locks are for.
P: IFF inoperative in OFF mode.
S: IFF always inoperative in OFF mode.

S: Took hammer away from midget.
I've noticed a similiar issue. The seek function on the steering wheel works sometimes...and not other. It usually right after start-up. If I keep pressing the button (forward and back directions)...then it starts working. At first...I thought it was me...not pressing hard enough...but that is not the case.
Another strange issue (normal or not?????) is that the NAV unit preset buttons are very sensitive! OMG...I have set and reset stations because it sets over a current station. Very weird!
Let us know what the dealer finds...I'm curious now.
Sometimes when I push the volume up it changes the station. Must be something screwy with the switch and resistors. Keep in mind that the audio controls are all on a single circuit. pushing the switches changes the resistance of the circuit. See pdf attached.
Pushing the volume up button causes the radio to skip to the next higher preset station.
Dealer could not reproduce and did not fix it.
That is exactly what mone does. There is only 90 ohm difference between Vol + and seek + (see pdf in post 8). Sometimes it gets confused if I dont push the vol + hard enough.
