I've got some questions about some perfeomance mods for my 2006 6.0
Currently I have mbrp 4" straight exhaust, arp head studs and all the goodies that come with the complete solutions kit. I also have the sct itsx tuner. I have custom tunes from mkm.
2 questions I have are what other performance mods can I do for more power and speed. Simple and extreeme ideas are welcome. Also who has the best custome performance tunes? I have one from mkm but I'm not too pleased with it and would like a different one. Any help is greatly appreciated.
I tow occasionally but not often...... Maybe once a month at most.
Depending on the weight that you tow, that is going to limit your aspirations on having a street/racing machine. For street applications, the most that I would go is Stage II injectors with a 64 or 66 mm turbo. If you are towing a good amount of weight, then I would go above Stage I and a 64 mm turbo (setup I use and I tow ~16k).
Now, of course, there are other mods that have to be done to the truck as well to help the truck handle this amount of power. Tranny rebuild, fuel system etc. The none fun stuff that is associated with the more intense mods.
Can someone explain the propane injection? What's the cost and any other mods needed along with it?
That's still enough weight that I would be hesitate to run Stage IIs, unless you are running something else to keep EGTs down.
One thing that you have to realize is that your peak HP/TQ are going to be much higher then your stock peaks are if you do moderate to heavy modifications on your truck.
Right now my peak HP/TQ are at 3900/2500 respectively. That could affect how things are done on the street when you are towing what you are towing. Or even just general driving. If I am driving respectable, I won't see 3900 on the tach at all. You are going to have to make compromises unless you devote your truck to one or the other.
Gearing lower will also help, but that limits you in other ways, especially on the higher end.
This is Matt for the smart *** Newbie. He has a file called the SRL+, this makes the 6.0L Ford Super Duty fast. lol... Gearhead Automotive Performance
You are asking what propane does for a diesel? I am the only person in this thread that has given you sound advice for what you asked for. Don't start you carrier here being an ***, it wont get you far.
