I've got some questions about some perfeomance mods for my 2006 6.0
Currently I have mbrp 4" straight exhaust, arp head studs and all the goodies that come with the complete solutions kit. I also have the sct itsx tuner. I have custom tunes from mkm.
2 questions I have are what other performance mods can I do for more power and speed. Simple and extreeme ideas are welcome. Also who has the best custome performance tunes? I have one from mkm but I'm not too pleased with it and would like a different one. Any help is greatly appreciated.
...and back to you, after getting through your spelling errors. You asked for both Simple and extreeme ideas I gave you some extreme ideas.
You also stated, Any help is greatly appreciated.
You sure don't act like you appreciated the info.
Good Luck
No I would much rather get a tune from someone vs a huge corporation due to more customization I assume. Was not being funny
That wouldn't be the issue really. The issue of dealing with a huge company versus a single individual or smaller company within the realm of custom tuning, it would be consistency within programming. If you get your custom tunes from a place that has 10-20 tuners, your files might have had 3 different people working on them (depending on how many files you got) with their own quirks.
Now if you are talking custom versus canned tunes, then that's right. Options are totally different between the two as they are constrained by different parameters.
In my opinion I don't see how these large companies can do a true custom tune for each person. I'd like to see more out of my tune than my current one. Maybe matt can help me with that.

Define large company. Are you talking about places like Bully Dog, Edge, Banks? Then you are correct. They do "one size fits all" type of tuning and they are constrained also by other factors as well.
Now take SCT, which is a fairly big company. It is made up of a network of many different custom tuners. Each one with their own quirks and how they do tuning. If you get one tune from Matt and one from Eric and one from RCD, you'll probably get different results, maybe radically different even if they have the same power output. But they both have the same potential of customization only limited by SCTs tuning software.
Now compare that to say Spartan Diesel which has their own tuning software and it only has 1 or 2 guys doing the tuning, more then likely there is going to be less difference in how tunes are done. Depending on how that Matt deals with the other guys that do tuning.
I run into the same thing in the embroidery digitizing field, but that's another story.
A lot of the guys around here just call them Matts tunes. He is a good tuner. His SRL+ file really performs well in my truck. Ive had tunes from both Spartan and Innovative over the years. Both of the former made great power. The tune from Spartan didnt work well with my tranny, just shifted weird. Both Smoked way to much for me. Some guys really like the Innovative tunes. Try a few and see what works for you. They both can tweak the files and adjust to your needs. Spartan isnt tuning with SCT anymore.
They use SCT software as well. Eric and Matt with Gearhead use the same tuning software, so all 3 of them have the same amount of options to tune with, but it really is the quirk of the individual tuner rather then a lack of what they are using.
Not all make good (or great) tunes across the board. You might have one that writes great tow tunes, one good general street tunes and so on.
It's an experimentation to find out which one fits you the best. From what you are posted, I don't think it's MKM.
I had better results with Matt at Spartan with his own tuner, while AGE didn't.

I used the Spartan custom tunes before he broke away from SCT. I have read good things about his new tuner.

I got on when he was beta testing it for the 6.0 crowd. I like it a lot. Haven't had a need to get any new tunes though as these are pretty well dialed in.
