Nice score looks like you found a diamond in the rough. Welcome to FTE. I have a 65 F100 4wd that was originaly regestered to a man in St Maries Idaho. I sure wish there was a way to find out if my truck was purchased at the same Ford dealer as your was as they are not to far away from each other.
I saw the pictures of the 65 4wd in your flkr account. Man the Northwest seems to have an abundance of these 4x4s. The Northwest Ford dealers of the day must have been pushing these 4wd trucks hard to farmers, loggers, and miners. Ive picked up 2 of them up here myself. Im watching your restoration with great interest.
Quite possible indeed! Pullman also had an old ford dealer downtown that I found a 70's pic of with a bumpside parked out front. I did locate the original building for Delta Ford in Moscow at 2nd and Washington, but I cant locate any historic photos of it. Id like to photochop my truck into one of those old photos.
So have ya got that Beast running and stopping yet?
Sorry ive been away from the site for a while. And as an update weve got the girl running healthy and safely stopping. Only problem seems to be that little 1 bbl. Its going to get a pro rebuild because weve played with it long enough. I have a video of it and since im on my phone right now ill say you just hop on youtube and either search jmcbrid0 or 1964 f100 10c tour and youll have it.
Also weekend after next if i can get home after exams ill mount the little phone suction cradle to the rear glass and take you all for a spin. My droid has really been the backbone of the documenting process and should make a nice video for you all
Welcome to the forum, just a few miles up from you here in Spokane.
Sorry totally neglected to say hey. The trucks actully up there north of you by a little bit in colbert. Home is a much easier place to work on it. More tools and my father with some good ol slick tricks up his sleeve. I learn something new each time he helps me with it. Never would i have imagined a 1/3qt of atf would clean and get those rings to seat. Got great compression now and no more smoke!
The truck still has some carb or fuel delivery problems to iron out. Truck had and airtex fuel pump on it tried another one from autozone. The float bowl is filling with fuel so I am unsure weather or not the rebuild on the carb is suspect or the fuel pump. Have to do a pressure check on the pump output. From looking at Napa parts it looks like there is another possible fuel pump available with a glass top that looks more like what might have been on the truck when original. Napa also sells a needle and seat for that carb that we might try to see if that may be the problem.
Welcome, thanks for posting photos of your clean '64. As you'll learn, the 61-66 era is the most interesting Ford truck run ever. No other era had so many major engineering changes during one design cycle. Your '64 is no exception, it has many unique features other years don't have. THese trucks look great right out of the box when new, so no need to over do it. You'll get the most accurate info on this site, other sites are not as well informed. For example, most all on the slicty site did not believe solid paint '64 custom cab pickups, like yours, also used the chrome "custom cab" door handle plates, they were postive it was a "63 only thing".

Hi do you go by the handle of factorystock on the other site?
Hi do you go by the handle of factorystock on the other site?
Yes, I was factorystock, but needless to say, I no longer contribute to that site anymore, except to point out original '64's with custom cab door handle plates
