Greeting earthlings. Landed for a short visit.....

Headed South from Roswell NM this morning. Visited Billy the Kid yesterday. He's not very talkative. Found some more pronghorns and had a run in with a White Tail. The fella ran about 30 yards, laid down behind scrub brush and played peek a boo. When he realized I had discovered his hiding spot, he got up and moved another 30 or 40 yards and laid down again. Apparently they like 104° heat even less than I do.

Cattle watering hole and mineral lick...

Guarding the does.

Nice big fellow....

Really?

Ya think your rack might just give you away....

Peek a boo, I see you....

Well, dang! You found me!

Billy the Kids Rifle....

They have to cage / lock Billy and his buddies graves because of thefts....

Now I would say that is is carrying Life in Prison just a little too far............

The smoke from the forest fires is still here....... less today than some days. We have some blue sky.... Nice light breeze....... 10+ mph. 67*F / 20*C with 41% humidity. Headed to 86*F / 30*C

Have fun on this fine day that our God has blessed us with.........

Spent Friday and Saturday up at 9,000 foot traihead and rode up over 11,000 foot, I can tell you Elevation does wonders for cooling things off. But we are supposed to get a cooling in temps at home this week. ( first of September better say goodbye to summer heat) We rode into Red Castle, It tops out at 12566. Saw some Moose. I was riding and leading a two year old horse ( with my lunch in her panniers) so both hands were full. So I didn't get many photos.

Fly by “Howdy“ from the perfume factory, Gang. We are still working to bring the units back online after shutting everything down last week for the hurricane.

Jon, excellent pics - even if you did have both hands full.

Gerry, glad you see you posting old photos again.

Time to get back at it. Have a great evening all.

No boomers Doug, EVER.

Good morning gang! We are officially empty nesters. Feels very weird. We got a soft start last year when it was just Owen home. He worked two nights a week and got home after we went to bed and at least a couple nights was at his girlfriend's house. The nights he was home, he was with his girlfriend. So we are somewhat used to the quiet house. It's going to be an adjustment that's for sure. I pray for all of them to have bright futures that they are happy and proud of their accomplishments.

We took the doggos for a little ride last night in the RZR. Whopping 20 miles on it now, lol. We are going to take them for a real ride this weekend. I'm not sure if we are going up solo or with another couple. We shall see.

Having the kids gone does take a little getting use to, but there is no better feeling than knowing they are good, productive people, as I'm sure your boys will be when they are out of collage. Of my 4 kids, my daughter is the only one that graduated from collage. My 3 boys own their own businesses, and are doing well. Soon the Grand kids will come along, and they are just as good or better than having the kids.
