Jon the scenery is magnificent! Man, I appreciate you sharing the views!

Doug that fire looks dangerous! I hope you are able to get it under control soon without further damage or any injuries!

Fiat got some new shoes on Saturday. I ordered Toyo Open Country MT's 35x12.5x20. I got Nitto Trail Grappler MT's, same size. They ordered the wrong ones in by mistake. I told them I didn't care. I've had both and they are interchangeable as far as I'm concerned.
Silver truck and new shoes !! WOOT WOOT

Hi guys,

Doug, What a bummer! What are the tanks made of? I just figured they would be steel. I'm having a hard time figuring out how the fire is going from tank to tank.

Thanks for the info and update!

Doug be careful if you spend the night fighting the fire. On TV it looks like a lot of smoke
Andre, It's always nice to have new shoes.
Roy, My Chiro says riding a horse is good for the back.

Bionic Tim,. the tanks are made of steel, but the heat is so intense that the tanks are boiling the liquid inside, and the vapors escape through the roof vents and catches fire from the other tanks. Once the internal roof inside sinks from the boiling oil, there is nothing preventing the fire from having sufficient air to burn. Additionally, as the tanks get hotter, the steel weakens and will eventually buckle and fail.

Jon, the smoke is very thick. I ended up using my truck to haul a large hose reel to the scene earlier this evening to get more water from the fire boats to the fire area. I was able to get a couple pics. I am in fact going to be running the pumper tomorrow night, but unless the wind shifts 180° from current direction, I will be fine. If it does shift, we have plenty of air packs on the truck.

Thanks Tim. I will exercise extreme caution. I also hope it gets knocked out soon, but I am not very optimistic at this point.

By looking at it looks like it's just going to have to use up all the fuel! Good luck!

Good morning, crew!
Finally got a beautiful day and some other folks off their backside all at the same time!!

Part of our local herd of speed goats! I have only had eyes on them 3 times. They manage to stay pretty well hidden. There are about 20 when they are all together.

Enjoy, and have a great day!
Doug, stay safe and hope you get the fire under control!

Hope the fire can be controlled without any other damage. Lots of coverage on the news around here about it since we have a lot of refineries and storage facilities also.

Nice pictures Don...no scenery like that in the swamps!!
