She wanted a new Refrigerator, I wanted a new Rifle.

This worked out very well....for her
She got the new Refrigerator, then a Kitchen Range, then a dishwasher.

Then asked me why I didn't get my new Rifle. She smiled when I replied, "Could it possibly be because when they ran my credit card they stated laughing as they took the scissors to it!"

Middle of corn harvest. Then a bearing goes out. Taken 2 days. One day running. For parts. Should be up and running tomorrow.
Big hammer came in handy

That was from a couple of years ago. Was turning around on end of field. Heard what sounded like a close gun going off. Come to find out the grade 12 bolts broke that hold a cap on the axle to,hold the rim on. Went down hard. Took a day to jack it up and get parts. Another not fun day. Was a thrill of a short ride.

Fog thick as pea soup Dave. Not fun. Driven through that before and not liked it. Was in the upper mid west and we stopped at a hotel for the night, woke up the next morning and couldn't see our hands in front of our faces... Luckily it quickly burned off...

Hope you have a better harvesting day tomorrow!

Seems to be maintaining below freezing out now. Supposed to snow again Saturday - don't know how much yet or if it even will.

Have you seen them before? I see there are other plastic shoe designs too.
I've seen the crowd funding website. Kinda pricing in my view.
You still have to attach the velcro strip on the hoof wall for the shoes to attach to. A new steel shoe is all of $2.50. I usually pick up 16 shoes and my cost is about $35 I can't even buy one hoof boot for that cost.

If you are nervous about driving nails into a horses hoof. I guess they are an easier solution. And there are times when I prefer plastic for traction vs steel like on slick granite. Somebody still has to nipper and rasp the hoof to shape.

My problem with Hoof boots in general. Is that they fail or come off when I need them. Most boots are sized for front or back hooves and in the various sizes. So keeping spares for 4-5 horses requires 4-8 spares. Which, I'm not going to pack 10 miles into the back country. So I end up day 2 of a 3 day weekend with no boot cause my horse one lost or destroyed the boot I had on and I'm carrying a spare for horse two.

If they get them into production and bring the price down, I'd look more seriously at them. But not at their current pricing.
