I like a National Carry permit...........
I would be willing to meet tougher Classroom and Range time requirements. I have already gone way beyond any state's requirements.
I would also like to see an "advanced" carry permit that would allow CC in the "no Gun zones"
Got some more work done outside on the Deck Stairs......Handrails.....
Lynn has been sick all weekend.......went to school today. Doing worse. Doc appointment right after school. I bet I will be subbing tomorrow.............poor kids.......

I'm in the same position as Dakster...HR 218 program.
Not withstanding that, I really don't want to get too far into the weeds here as it gets real political. But, Oregon is a prime example of why a Uniform Federal Level Law on Concealed Carry Permits is needed.
If you have a concealed carry permit from any state in the union, don't expect it to be honored here. Just to be on the safe side, Place it in full view or in the trunk of your car prior to crossing the State line, and stay out of the Portland Metro area with it.

I tried to send this by phone, for some reason I can't get the link to act properly. Maybe you can read the article about a civilian shooting a guy that attacked a Florida LEO.

See Roy, I'm more of a "Shall Not Be Infringed" kind of guy. The second amendment is a right and not a privilege. Any required courses or a even permit at all, is a violation of that right. Constitutional carry that has been enacted in states like Maine and VT is the truest interpretation we have so far.
Rodney - Alaska is also a true 2nd amendment state - nothing is needed... Open carry, concealed carry... Some places you can't do either - walk around downtown anchorage open carrying and you will most likely get stopped, potentially at gun point. We only have a CCW permit in AK for reciprocity reasons. Of course in AK, your right to carry can be taken away (Domestic Violence as an example). The one thing on the books is that if you are carrying and are approached by a law enforcement officer, like on a traffic stop, you must immediately tell the officer that you are armed.
Seabiscuit - Areas like that are annoying and why there was even a need for HR-218. There was a time that current, active, police officers even living in New Jersey, but working in another state couldn't take their firearms home with them without being in violation of NJ law. And NJ police would arrest an active duty officer for being armed. I used to drive around that state when I drove up to Connecticut from Florida before HR-218. And in Connecticut I wasn't allowed to conceal carry either - but - they didn't actively look to enforce it. One of the reasons a lot of Officers would get CCW permits.. I have a Florida one as it is free for life - and considering getting an AK one just to have it. There some annoyances with HR-218 as well - I'm sure Seabiscuit knows all about those too..

Good morning guys!
The broken boy did pretty good at school yesterday. I was happy. He got some help getting his back pack on and off at each class. He can go to the bathroom on his own as long as he wears shorts with an elastic waist band. He got a cute girl to get him his lunch. He's doing ok.
My other son has been helping out his brother big time. I'm really proud of him.
Have a great day guys!
