Had the same thing happen to me at Sears... It does suck and it is scary that it happened to your daughter. At least you remained calm. I wouldn't trust them again either. (I never went back to that sears again).
Glad that no one was hurt... Find another Dealer/service center. This is strike #2 or #3 with this dealer?

So my daughter comes home from school and says here Jeep is vibrating in the steering wheel and it feels really wrong. She also says it's been doing it since we picked it up Thursday and gotten worse. She was gone all weekend so it was parked but she did drive it Friday, Monday and today.
I get in and start driving and feel it instantly. Pull over and shake the front tire to see if a ball joint is bad or what is going on. It's a pretty bad vibration. Wheel moves A LOT. The dang lug nuts are LOOSE as in I can spin them with my hand. Same thing with the other side. They never tightened the lug nuts from when it was in for service Thursday (they replaced front u joints). So I tighten them on the side of the road. Have to use the "key" on one of them as it's a security lug nut. Vibration gone. Get home re-tighten with torque wrench and call service manager. Tell him what happened. I get that it was a mistake...it can happen. It sucks that it happened to us or to anyone. However, why didn't they road test the Jeep? I'll let him sort that mess out, but I'm pretty untrusting of this dealership at this point. I feel they made a mistake and then ignored the road test which is designed to catch mistakes like this. I was calm on the phone and was nice an all, but how to you forget something like this happened there? It's my daughter and you could have caused her to have an accident. They apologized, but I just don't know if I'll ever trust them again. This kind of stinks all the way around.

Yes Capt. my tech didn't connect the cannon plug correctly on the mk47 fire control computer when he finished installing it on the F-14 that Lt Lewis was flying. Yes sir, I realize that this cost the lost of the aircraft and the lives of Pilot Lt Lewis and the RIO Lt Thomas. No sir, the work was not inspected by a QIC (Quality Inspection Control) Petty Officer.
As the Court martial concludes.......I and the Tech are sentenced to Leavenworth to 10 years of hard labor and a dishonorable discharge.
...Oh, I'm sorry never worked in the Navy. That is why there is a strict process that must be followed.
A "today" example...........
I was installing the DieselSite fuel Filter on Jolly Green awhile ago. I used a flashlight to help. It was place on top of the exhaust pipe and drive shaft.
.....No inventory of tools after the job........
When I was installing the Airbags and controller........Guess what I found after many miles driven.....what happens when NicCad battries get cooked......I was lucky.
Brett,
That reminds me. I used to like "second chance" body armor. Until they were tested and found out that their bullet proof vests, weren't bullet proof... So you really didn't get a second chance.
BTW - Anyone read the article that California only has a year of water left and no rain in sight.

Just FYI......for everyone......Personally......ALL shops have hit strike 3 for me when it comes to wheel mounting.....I ALWAYS check the torque on my lugs as soon as I get my vehicle home whenever they have had a wheel off! But that is just me...not everyone agrees with my method. I had a rear come off the vehicle once within 40 miles of leaving the shop, and I said to self....never again!
Andre, I am just glad your daughter is ok and that nothing drastic happened!

I dont know Roy, when I was still in High School(a long time ago) they were saying that a big earthquake was going to shake Kalifornia off into the ocean....I am now thinking that I may not live long enough for that to happen!
I have no love loss for the attitudes of the Commiefornians, but the land they are on is pretty. Maybe if the People's Republic of California isn't around we can reclaim it.
I might be able to afford that Malibu Beach home I also wanted. I'll just have to use "Platinum Jack" (My truck's name) to haul water for me.

Good evening guys,
Andre, The high idle mod looks great, does it work with the remote start? Mine is fixed at 1100 RPM I think I'm going to drop it down to 1000 RPM. Props to Blapensee!
Bummer about the dealer not tightening the lug nuts on your daughter jeep. It would be nice to talk to the mechanic that did the work, give him an ear full. Chances are it won't happen again and it's just a crap shoot no matter where you go.
Brett, I like the Hillary bumper sticker joke.

Thanks for the kind words guys! It helps. We had scouts tonight and I also had to take a CPR refresher course to get recertified. Glad its over and hope I never have to use it! Don't know how monty does it!
Tim...rpm is adjusted with the ****. Pretty slick. There is a thread around here to get it to work with your remote start. I chose not too for two reasons. I don't want my upfitters hot on remote start and I don't want my parking brake light on all the time (part of the mod, light is on, brake isn't too fool the computer). My OCD couldn't handle the light on, lol.
