I didn't think the 'Dayton' wheels (as shown in your last picture) were available on these trucks in 1955. If that is what your truck has, 20" Daytons are widely available.

your 55 could have either 5 lug or 6 lug wheels, which does it have?
Also if it is 6 lugs you can readily find army surplus 6 lug wheels with decent unidirectional army treads for pretty decent deals I think usually 900x20's

I've got some 6 lug lockrings available soo. but tires with those aggresive tread patter like in photo #1 will be hard to find! I know as I've been looking form some like that 8.25x20 for my Marmon Herringotn and am going to settle for some 9x20's
here are the 9x20's I found for my 53 MH

and a close match for the front

I think the Daytons may have just been on the F700 and up Super Duty's of that era? the C800 super duty I picked up a while back for parts had 20 Daytons on it

I went to go look at a boat yesterday morning and found another Good tire, 8.25x20 Bf Goodrich traction tread, the second one was garbage but the guy was glad to see them go. (now if I could just find 5 more! )

Oh ya I didn't buy the boat, A little too much rust for me not to mention it's 30' long and 7tons of steel!!!

here is the boat

I'm confused, does it have Daytons on it now? If not, I think you would need to change the axles to use them.

Daytons are the worst design......... we all have seen the 1970's trash trucks going down the road and the rear set of duals look like they are going to fall off.... the major woble factor!

The wobble factor usually is indicative of a lazy, amateur or jut plain stupid person installing the wheels. With duallies or singles, because you are mounting the wheels with wedges, they must be 'trued' while tightening. My 2 Kenworth K100's and my Chevy Titan 90 all had Daytons and the wheels all ran true because I mounted them myself.
