Hey Guys/gals,
I have a 1996 F-350. It is popping #13 fuse under the dash. Brakelights/hazards, ABS. I can't figure out why. I have un-hook a couple of harnesses, but still getting the short. Disconnected the trailer brake controller and ABS switch in the rear end too. Can it be one of the rear or front turn signals?
Anybody have this problem? Frustrated at this point. Any help greatly appreciated
Remove all the bulbs involved, including the center stop light in the cab roof. If that keeps the fuse from blowing, start reinstalling them until it blows. If it still blows with all the bulbs removed, then you're lookin' at a switch (BOO or hazard switch), or a wire chafed and shorting to ground somwhere. Those can be loads of fun to find.
OK, so I have dis-connected all the rear lights, front lights, ABS switch in the rear end. I have isolated it to the right side. Flasher went bad, when I installed a new one, left side blinked normally, right side blink like there is a short. Still blowing fuses. Is is possible that it could be the brake switch?
