Aftermarket TPMS?

Last time I was at an American Tire I had asked about aftermarket TPMS valve stems. I believe they were like $60 each plus installation. Supposedly, they'll even replace the bands that the '08 has. I talked to the manager and made a deal that when I'm ready to get new tires, I'll try it and if they work, I'll pay for them if not then they'll take them back off and put the bands back in.
Means I have to go to 65psi tires though to try it. :/
