Like bluegrass said, more help in the right forum I miss my 97 stroke, that said, check your ipr wiring first. It is the two wire solenoid on the back of the high pressure oil pump. If you are kneeling on the bumper looking at the fuel bowl it is just below and down from it on the driver's side. If these wires short to each other it cuts fuel. The fuel from the filter eats the wire insulation and makes this happen.

Careful, don't get caught up in PMS (powerstroke mod syndrome.) Something attractive about a hot rod that still gets 16 mpg!

I forwarded this to a mod to get moved to the 94.5-97 PSD forum.

Anyhow, how many miles have you put on it since you pulled one of the heads? IPR is a possibility. The Under Valve Cover Harnesses are another. Bad plug on the Cam Sensor. Fuel Pressure. Still air in the fuel lines from head removal.

Where did you get your CPS from? Ones from parts stores (orielly, napa, autozone, etc) are all hit and miss. Some work fine, others last literally a week. Try getting one from Ford or International.

Do you have cruise control? If so set the cruise and see if it keeps cutting out could be a TPS issue

Your truck shouldn't have a catalytic converter. How many miles have you driven it since you pulled the head?

Really? I have a 97 F-Super Duty that didn't have one. I have a early 99 and it doesn't have one, and an 02 and it didn't have one either. Perhaps I missed something. But none of those trucks had them when I bought them. And I thought they all had factory exhaust. They were all used though.

I have put about 35 miles on it.I am running one tank out and then fill it up and put some lucas or sea foam see if that helps then if that helps I will do the same with the other tank. I also put new orings on the injectors on the head I had off.I used a volt meter and checked all the injectors and they all had the same reading. Thanks

You might have air in the fuel lines yet. Have you drove it hard?

Was it doing this before you pulled the head and all the other work?

I hooked my enclosed race car trailer and it still did it turned it up with superchip and even done it worse. When I bought the truck they said the turbo junk part of the rubber boot got to it.I found were he took to a dealer and they checked it out and said it needed a turbo and it had 6 bad glow plugs sl I replaced all the glow plugs. If you get on it will cut out a little worse
