ALT Voltage

Good day people,

I was wondering what the ALT voltage should be at idle? My goes between 13.0 and probably 13.7. Is this a good range? Thanks!

Cheers,

Cheers,
Looks good to me.... my factory alternator would run right around 13.2 +/-

Why do you ask? Do you have a light coming on in the dash? The only real way to know if everything is working 100% is to have the batteries tested individually as well as the alternator but if the light is coming on in the dash then you have a problem that needs to be fixed asap to avoid some costly grief.

Cheers,
well, it's the range most of us get until we replace the OEM
alternator with a good one.

DC power regulates their output at 14.7 volts.

the charging profile on my 50 amp oddesy battery charger is tailored
to oddesy batteries.... there is a bulk charge phase, increasing the
voltage until 50 amps of current flow is reached, maintaining that
until 80% of battery capacity is reached.

then it sets charging voltage at 14.7 volts, and charges for four hours.

then it sets voltage to 13.5 volts, and that is indefinite float charge
voltage.

so my oem alternator will never charge my batteries fully, ever.

What have people with dual alternators find their voltages are? Same as above?

No light!! I was just wondering, my car puts out more of around 14, so I did not know if the truck would be doing that as well.
