Instrument voltage regulator
Is there a way to test the instrument voltage regulator while it is off the truck? Mine is a '68 and I installed a new one from Kragen and now sometimes my water temp gauge does not work and my fuel gauge reads lower than it actually is.

This has been discussed numerous times,
With the key in the run position :
Take a test ligt > Remove the wire to the temp S/U > touch the test light probe to the wire >the light should pulse flash on.

Thanks, do I need to attach the other end of the test light to the stud on the sender? Would it matter if the IVR wasn't putting out exactly the 5 volts that it's supposed to?
