That's looking real good Grant, hope you're able to work on it over the winter months over at the truck shop.
That's what my plan is. I just hope I'll have time, with all the hockey. I would have to back the trailer in the dock and unload the truck on a Friday night to let it thaw then humper either Saturday or Sunday, then load it up, and put the trailer back in the line up. At least it will be enclosed, and available to work on.
Really nice looking truck, great looking work!
Your working weather is short there. Houston practically closes down if it gets below freezing here, it doesn't happen often. If it ever got really cold here it would be a disaster!
Now I have no excuses for not working on mine all the time! Other than the fact that I work too much being Self Employed! I often wish a actually had just an 8 hour day...
Glass guy called me at work at 2pm, and wanted to put my windshield in. He caught me by surprise. I left work, and it took him an hour to install. He had problems getting the top part in. He has put 3 of these type in recently and said all took longer than expected due to the thickness of the rubber. he said to let it sit in the sun on the weekend. The rubber is wrinkled a bit where the upper body seam is. I'm happy. It looks good to me. $30.00 cash. Gotta luv favour's called in. Pic's tomorrow.
I asked him, and he said he puts them in dry. No lube to install. This is supposed to keep them from leaking. He will fix it if it leaks. He has an impeccable success rate on our highway trucks. Some guy's use butyl, but he prefers not to. The rubber was awfully tight. According to him that should seal well. Time will tell.
Update: shortened drive shaft, installed, cleaned, painted and lubed cowl vent, and wiper linkage, Installed wiper pivot's. Painted, and installed defrost vent's. Installed new throttle housing gasket's, and will modify the throttle linkage tomorrow. Pic's will follow. very sore this weekend. Don't know why? I kept a low profile. All I'm going to do tonight is; Clean windshield again (messed it up cleaning tape glue from the rubber).
