80 f150 302 3 on the tree. when i got the truck the clutch pedal seemed like it was binding up and sucked itself half way down before it caught pressure. and upon releasing it, it would feel normal until it hit the half way point. then just a little pressure pulling the pedal up, it would push itself back up. it shifted fine but wouldnt move. so i replaced the disk (its in right) and the pilot bearing. the clutch felt great, pressure the whole length of the pedal like it should and i could feel where it should engage/disengage. and it was catching gear unlike before, it would just roll while it was in gear.
ok so now the issue is the same. since i first started the truck after replacing the clutch, its the same thing. truck doesnt move, and pedal sucks itself down a lil more than half way before you feel the pressure, and pushed itself back up with just a touch when theres no pressure. its all manual linkage, no cable. the adjustment pin on the fork seems like its all the way out already. the threads are almost as long as the pin itself. is it all the way out? should i turn the pin out more? or could the pressure plate be collapsed? i hope its simple cause its another $100 and a day to pull the tranny again to replace the pressure plate. thanks for any help.
You should have just a little bit of pedal movement before the slack is taken out of the clutch linkage. Something like 3/4" or so, although I don't have the exact amount from the factory manual in my head. Can look it up later if needed though.
But, did you inspect the linkage as you replaced the clutch? The bushings in the Z-bar that spans between the frame and the tranny often get worn badly and allow movement in them that causes problems. And, you do have a return spring from the frame to the throw out arm? Another possibility is the pedal assembly. There are bushings in it and they wear out as well.
I'm guessing the biggest problem is that you have too little free-play in the linkage which isn't allowing the pressure plate to push the clutch against the flywheel with enough force to prevent slippage. You may have adjusted the pin too far due to the bushings being worn in an effort to get the pedal to return fully.

Jespo, I'm having the same problem with my clutch, and have since I've bought the truck. Previous owner said it had been rebuilt. Shifts ok though, runs fine but the clutch must be all the way to the floor to shift gears, and having to toe up the clutch.
Wish I could help, but please keep us updated.
Thanks
update: i took the adjustment pin off, brought it all the way in, and put it back on. i adjusted it so it was just snug up against the clutch fork. all that happened was it allowed the clutch pedal to pull itself all the way to the floor.
thats where the pin sits now, before it was about an inch or so further extended. should i just go and replace all the bushing? i mean 98,000 miles and pretty positive they are from the factory.
oh and in addition to all this, when i drop the pin from the clutch fork so its not pushing anything. the pedal brings itself all the way down to the floor.
I think you have at least two problems. First, there is a spring on the top of the pedal assembly that should keep the pedal at the top even if the pedal is not connected to the linkage. I'm guessing your spring is broken. Second, the pin is to be adjusted so you just have about 1/2" free play in the pedal before you start to disengage the clutch. Fix the spring problem and properly adjust the linkage and you may not need to replace bushings.
