Thanks! When I was doing the wiring I reinstalled the engne after having it rebuilt. It made it considerably easier having the front off the engine compartment. Suprisingly even the inner fenderwells were in pretty good shape. I removed them to weld in a very small patch in each one.
Yeah that was the bed that was on the truck when I got it. I assumed it was OEM. If it isn't and you have an idea what it is, let me know so I can accurately represent it in the future. Again this is all new to me.
Schoo, I felt the same way. They were really solid though. This truck has little to no serious rust. Very surprising considering its age
The OEM bed on a 65 F250 was a 58-60 bed, refer to as a "wrong" bed. The lines on the older bed did not line up and the style was for the older truck. Yours looks like a it came from a F100.

Oh yeah. I see what you mean. I definitely like this better than OEM
have you got room around the steering box withthose headers?
what have you done with the brakes see booster on the wall
Yeah there's plenty of room, once I got it all bolted up. Getting it in was an ordeal. everything had to be loosely bolted on, including the starter, to squeeze it into the engine bay. The power disc brakes were on the truck when I got it as was the power steering, which makes me think that the original owner put the cab and bed on a 72 frame. I have the original ad from him, which lists the differentials, transmission, and transfer case as 72 era 3/4 ton parts. I had to replace the booster and master cylinder and the part # coincided with a 72 3/4 ton when I bought it at NAPA.
ok i got a better idea of what you have nice ride!!
whats going on in side?

I just had the original bench seat redone with a kit from LMC Truck. The floorboards are solid, so I just put in a rubber floormat from LMC. Doors were already done. I've got this monster toggle switch panel that came with it that wiil need something hooked up to it. Winch, lights etc...Heater, doe light, wiper motor(two speed) all work fine. I really can't wait to get it down here.

Bertha66,
Question: How can you tell his bed came from a F100 -- of the '65/'66, long wheel base, styleside beds, what are the differences between a F100 bed and a F250 bed?
The OEM Styleside bed on a '65 F250 4WD was a 57-60 bed, referred to as a "wrong" bed. The lines on the older bed did not line up with the 1961/66's cab lines.
1957/60 F100/350 Styleside beds installed on the following 1961/66's:
Didn't the 66 4x4 have a much shorter wheel base then the others Bill? I used to have one and if I remember right it wad around 118" or so.
1966 F100 4WD's have coil spring front suspension. Use the same cab and Styleside beds as 1965/66 F100/250 2WD. Same wheelbases as 1965/66 F100 2WD: 115" & 129" / Same 129" as 1965/66 F250 2WD
1966 F250 4WD's like 1961/65 F100/250 4WD's have a cab step, solid front axle with leaf springs. Steer and ride like a oxcart.
