Heh, heh, heh...we'll help you spend your money, noooooo problem!!
Just call Clay at Riffraff Diesel Performance (The Excursion forum sponsor), tell him what ya got, what ya want, what's your budget, and he'll hook you up.
In the mean time, I'm moving this to the 7.3L PSD forum so The Brotherhood can have fun chiming in to help you spend your money too!!

Thanks Stewart. I should have thought to before I posted . Haven't explored many of the other forums, beside the excursion one.
I'm not looking for the hardcore race that will kill my mpg. I'm want to boost my acceleration and increase my mpg (best of both worlds) those mods will wake the truck up. Adds about 80hp
Is the MagnaFlow on there a good exhaust. Yes I'd leave on
What is a good intake to get? 6637 or a S&B
Important gauges are EGT, Trans temp, and boost. Correct? Yep
From what I have heard the DP-Tuner is one of the best. Do you agree or is there a better one? I have only run PHP and now run BTS and they blow PHP out the water
What are FPX and HPX? fuel pressure cross over and high pressure oil crossover
I didn't think you needed a transcooler unless you want to do so more extreme mods. If I do what would you recommend? They stock cooler sucks and the heat is the number one killer of these trans. Find a 32 row 6.0 cooler
Not sure what the transgo tugger kit is? It's a shift kit to firm up shifts quick will add more life to your trans
Sorry so many questions and thanks for the help...
Getting back to your original concern, you had stated that “I don't want to spend more than 1k” so now the next question becomes, you don’t want to spend more than 1K total or 1K right now? If you do not intend on spending more than 1K total, the laundry lists that you are given will be severely modified. Half of your 1K budget will go to gauges alone. Tuners can be expensive depending upon what you get and what tunes you have, mine was around 800. FRx and HPx are around 250 if you install them yourself. Price of intake is dependent upon what you want. In the world of “mods”, 1K does not get you very far and remember that mods need to be done in a specific order so that they build on each other to make them effective. An example would be intake before gauges, gauges before tuner and so on.
DP Tuner F5 with a few tunes. 80 Economy is great, but would ask them to lay off the throttle/pedal response. A little (LOT) touchy, IMO. $400
Complete Tranny service after new cooler. -$180 at the dealer.
$1050 OTD including shipping. All of these mods are fairly easy to do yourself and you could save even more if you do the tranny service. My 2 cents Good luck!
The link you posted to was good with their recommendations as to what to do. I would consider some different suppliers as to what I'd buy. The 6637 intake mod is the cheapest one out there. If the sound of the turbo might annoy you, then you may want to consider a different one. I would recommend staying away from the filters that are oil soaked and can be cleaned and reused. Your exhaust is fine. There are some good tuners out there, and everyone will give you their opinion, which may or may not agree with the next guy. A shift kit is a good investment, and a tranny cooler if you're going to be towing much. No towing, then a cooler is not needed in my opinion.

Why?
I have over a million miles on the road and have never had a single issue running washable filters...

OK. It's just that I have heard that those filters are not good at trapping the dirt that a good paper filter can. K&N specifically. But if you've got that kind of life out of your motors, then I'm wrong. Again, just what I've read on here. I've got no personal experience.
I think the biggest problem with the washable filter is people using high pressure nozzles to wash them which will cause the fibers to be opened up and allow dirt to pass. All you need is the cleaner and a garden hose to rinse the filter
Same here have never had a problem with a washable filter had a K&N on there for a while now have AFE big boost filter on there now I have always had a pre filter on them or the little sock deal been that way since I bought it new have 190k on it now with no problems it's even been out on the dunes a few times. It's all in the maint of them.
Only thing I noticed when I went to an open filter was I would get turbo surge with the chip also so maybe a wicked wheel might be a good idea Wich would be the cheaper fix for surge.
