my 76 250 has a in cab fuel tank, maybe because it has a service bed. i thought that they were all frame mounted then but anyway mine is rusted out and im replacing it with one out of a 69 almost the same but there are two fuel lines coming out of the top of the original. i have not looked under it enough to see were the other one goes which im sure is easy to figure out. all of my other trucks only had a single line. anyone know why there is two?
There were two different in-cab fuel tanks used 1973/77, with or without Evaporative Emission (Evap/Em). Both are obsolete. I looked these up for someone yesterday, no Ford Dealer or obsolete parts vendor has any.
The Evap/Em tank has a round hole in it for the fuel vapor valve. Lines route from this valve along the frame rail to the valve on the Evap/Em's charcoal cannister under the hood.
Evap/Em: Unleaded fuel only. The fuel cap is non vented, has four prongs on it. There is a restrictor inside the fuel filler tube used with the 4 pronged cap.
Back then, there were two different sizes of gas station nozzles. The restrictor would not allow the larger in diameter leaded fuel nozzle to fit in.

In 1970, FoMoCo replaced the 18 gallon in-cab fuel tank (C1TZ-9002-K = 1961/66 F100/800 & 1967/69 F100/750) with the 1970 (1970/72 F100/750) D0TZ-9002-A 19 1/2 gallon in-cab tank.
This tank has been reproduced by Blue Oval Truck Parts. However this in-cab tank was not used on 1970/72 F100's with Evap/Em (first year: 1970).
i just put other tank in. fit perfect, just gonna do away with charcoal canister. my truck also has a louvered hood which i am gonna change. are they aftermarket, cant recall seeing another one?
