Am I the only person that parks over the lawn sprinkler?
Well thats what I do. I get my arch sprimkler and stick it under my truck. Just enough pressure to know off the crud, yet leave the important stuff

Nope! Right after Memorial Day weekend I planned to wash my truck but didn't get around to it until everything was baked on for a few days. I called my wife and told her to put two sprinklers under it and let 'em run all day. I still had to pressure wash everything, but it was a heck of alot easier.

I'm thinking of getting some copper tubing and making a custom sprinkler that does the whole underside of the truck. Maybe even some risers off of it to get up in the engine area.

That's a great idea! I bet there would be a market for that!

Engine Cleaner

Just an FYI, I think it might be a good idea to stay away from Gunk's Foamy Engine Brite Engine Cleaner. After using this product a few times, I noticed it appeared to have an affinity to certain rubbers it came in contact with and dry rotted them out. I ended up having to replace my car's rubber air intake tube because of this ( a cost of over 50$).

I wrote Gunk themselves and they said it was possible their product could have done this and they suggested I cover up the potentially vulnerable areas. This idea sounded kinda silly to me since I'd be covering up alot of the stuff I needed clean in the first place.

My advice would be to stay away from any product that seems extremely concentrated, or contains some kind of petroluem ditillates.

If you're worried about getting water on your engine, make sure the vehicle has cooled down for a good half hour, cover up things like a carb/ air cleaner, and after you spray and clean, get water out of ditributor cap and other areas where water may have collected. Once you do this, drive the vehicle for a while to dry everything out.
