No, I was asking because I remember there are many that the charging wire from the alt is on it, it has a fusible link, it could be bad there, you can feel when they are bad, they're stiff, feel crusty.
I think you're just bouncing off the walls, stop replacing and assuming it's a bad part. Wiring, fuse or fusible link have already been mentioned. You really need to check the wiring.
OK. I've been pokin wires around and they all seen good. Now the one thing I found, and maybe this is it. When you open up the hood, directly under the windshield, is a box with three terminals on it. The 2 outside wires have power, but the middle wire, which goes to the Alternator has no power. I dont know what this thing is, so I really dont wanna mess with it. Any Ideas???
Fusible Link. I actually replaced this a few days ago but nothing happened then. Well tonight I was going to move it so I could get my other van out and when I put it in drive...BAM... alt light went off and guage went right up. Been driving it all night now and everything is fine!!!
So, really, all that's been accomplished is that you know there is what appears to be an intermittent problem with the charging system in your van that you haven't been able to track down. For your sake, I hope this van doesn't leave you walking. Keep us posted.
Well some of us can't afford to take it to a "pro". That's why we come to this board. All I know is it's running now, and running great. I replaced the fusible link and ground wires and it's moving again. So that's what I accomplished. Thanks again everyone for the help.
What Rico47635 is trying to say is you really never pinpointed the problem. You said it was the fusible link but it didn't fix it when you replaced it. You say it's running now, I think we all thought it's been running all along. We're as lost as you are.
Anyway hope you fixed the issue whatever it may have been.

Believe me when I tell you I know all about not being able to afford mechanic shops. The point I am making is that it doesn't look as if you actually tracked down your problem. It will most likely reappear when you least expect it. Take it from someone who dealt with a belt problem for a year and a half and got stranded more than once because of it--sometimes you can't afford not to have a pro take a look at your vehicle.
If you live in the USA Auto Zone, Advance, Oreillys, NAPA, and other parts stores will come out in the parkinglot with a tester and hook it up to the vehicle to see if it is charging, it load tests the system, and will see if the battery has a dead cell, FREE.
