actualy the bumper on my 87 is pretty close to mint. whats tonge weight. how much can weigh down on it. or pressure on top of it. also the hitches have changed every single yr for some dumb reason. i tried one off a 88 91 and 95 to fit on my 87 all the bolt patterns were completely different. dunno why but i cant find any 87s around with a good tow hitch.

<facepalm> You're going to need to drill some holes with any of them.

As you've now heard from Bradx2, 80-96 is the same hitch. You can say otherwise all day long, but you'll still be wrong, all day long.

Ill even take pics of my hitches. All were different lengths and patterns. The 88 was the closest but still about 2 inches linger so no room to drill holes. Each one was a different desighn also. So no i am not wrong

Take a look at this one Fordka. I put it on my 94 and all the bolt holes lined up perfect. They even include brand new hardened bolts. I know its black but what a nice bumper. I installed the reciever hitch that comes as an accessory also.

1994 Ford F150 Legend Back Bumper - 8",5/5

The second link is 87 specific and usually with these you dopn't have to drill any hoples in your frame.

It doesnt matter. You HAVE to drill holes no matter what hitch you put on. NONE of them are a NO DRILL. EVERY manufacture is slightly different but yet they ALL fit 80-97

Kinda hard to drill holes when the mounting tabs gaven are spaced out 5 inches further that my original holes. Ya it will fit if i weld in my own mounting tabs and drill the holes. Ya any hitch will fit that way.

Then the hitch you are attempting to put on your truck did not come off and was not designed for a 80-97 F-series, it is that simple

I installed a class 5 receiver hitch it is better than any bumper. I have a lift gate also so I can not use a bumper. It has a 16,000lb Gross trailer weight. For the hitch I use an aircraft grade billet aluminum drop hitch that weighs less then a couple of pounds. It supports tongue weight of up to 2,000 lbs and tows up to 14,000 lbs.

Take a couple of pictures I'd love to see what you are using in aluminum that is cpable of pulling 16000 punds.

I will try to do that. I just blew out a transmission on my 2004 for ranger.
Now I have no transportation so I will be working on my truck.

I bought the hitch in a Colorado RV shop. They had the largest selection for towing that i have ever seen,
