I bought a set myself from Ebay ... the way I wired it is directli tapping power from the headlight switch ... the reason being is so that whenever I turn the headlight on....they come on & if you turn the headlight off... they go off... as I remember it, I tapped it to the black wire (ground) & the black white wire(live feedwhen headlight switch is in the parking light mode) I'll make sure & check my circuit diagram. THIS IS FOR AN EXPLORER H/SWITCH CIRCUIT.
As for the warping problem that 13hondacr250 mentioned, it hasn't happen to me but as a precaution, you might wanna take out all your instrument cluster bulbs (leave only ones that highlight your odomete & tripmeter) because you don't really need them.
One more tip.... when you've fed the guages onto the needles... it's a good idea to use electrical tape (as a hold down) while putting your bezel back on .... (place tape on non white areas.... so that when bezel is installed, no black tape is showing.)
It took me a while to align all the warning/indicator lights... There are holes on the gage face to align with the position pins on the instrument cluster itself, but they may not match exactly. what I did was putting my key in the on position so that most of the idiot lights light up & position my gage face.
This is just a suggestion.... No specifick instructions came with mine either. The istructions they supply was too general... so I tossed it aside. BTW... I took electrical too
well i finally got the gauges to light up.. i tapped them into the wire that goes to the head lights.... (red and yellow) and i put the ground on that ebrake bracket thing... and it works.. along with some other junk that lights up thanks for your help
