Calling all A/c guru's.....Get home today going to top off the a/c. The system works fine just a tad warmer than usual. Have the gauges and was curious what is considered normal readings. Temperature today is mid 90's so upon scanning this board found many many opinions, just need the best! I was going to shoot for a low side 40 and high side 225. I arrived at this from DD on this board and googling. Does Ford have any published recommended pressures to aim for? I have not checked the system yet with the gauges so I cant supply you guys with any current readings. In a perfect world were all the planets align what would be suggested pressures. Thanks a million guys......Maxx
When I checked the low and high yesterday (95 degrees) after the system ran 10 minutes the initial readings (idling) were 25 low and 150 high. Once I idled up to 1500 and put a fan in front of the condenser the compressor started cycling very quick. Once it engaged the low pressure started dropping off and of course once it gets around 20 ish the switch kicks it off anyway. I slowly started adding freon to where it would maintain 30-35 on the low and around 200 high. It took almost 2 cans to achieve this. I let it run for about 1/2 hour watching the gauges to make sure they were steady. Air is nice and cold now again. I was curious to see the difference when I switch the a/c from max to normal. The numbers above were on max with high fan, once I switched to normal outside circulation the low pressure creeped up to around 40 and the high to around 225. Put it back on max and the pressures returned to 35 ish and 200 steady. Thanks Maxx
