Anyone using Firestone Destination LE2 tires? I know there's a million tire posts here but these are fairly new and I couldn't find anything in this forum on them.
Just looking for an all season tire with good wear and decent snow traction.
I don't know a lot about the Firestone Destination LE2 tire. You might check Tire Rack's sight for reviews. I had the same criteria as you have, but I just installed a set of General Grabber HTS tires. I've only ran 1000 miles on them, but so far so good.
I'm running the Destination LE1. 42,000 miles on them and should get a least 10,000 more miles out of them. Ride is good and wet traction is good. I live in south so I have never driven the truck in snow. During the winter when it is cold they flat spot over night and you can feel it in the ride until the tires warm up and the flat spot goes away. This is my second set of them. I would buy them again unless I found a better deal on some Michelin. I don't know what difference is between the LE1 & LE2. They just started selling the LE2 so I doubt you will find any reviews.
Yeah I figured I might not find many reviews but I was hoping maybe I'd have some luck on here. I did find one review from someone in Alaska saying they were good on ice. That might be the only winter review out there.
Hopefully the LE2's are better that the LE's for flat spots. It's cold in Minnesota a good chunk of the year. Thanks for the input!
My Generals flat spot as well. It's out of the thump mode within 3/4 mile so I can deal with it. The OE General Ameritracs flat spotted as well. The Pirelli Scorpions that came on my 05 SD flat spotted as well. On those tires the thumping lasted a little longer. But again, it wasn't that anoying.
My tires have about 3000 miles on them. They have excellent traction in the wet and snow/icy conditions that we have been having in Oklahoma. They do flat spot over night when cold, but it only takes about a mile for them to recover. The one issue I have with the tires is that they have cost me about 1.7 MPG. I have read others that have experienced a loss of mileage after switching to the LE2s.
