Power Issue

I have a 1986 F150 with the 302 efi when I really get on the "Gas" it will take off good, but then starts losing power like it is running out of fuel.
If I let off the pedal and for a second or two, and I can resume driving under normal condtions.

Try changing the fuel filter first. Do you have a pressure gauge?

i do no have a fuel pressure gauge but i will be getting one soon. i will change the fuel filter and see it that is the issue. thanks

I'm suspicious of one of the two fuel pumps; IIRC you should have a low-pressure pump in the tank and a high-pressure pump on the frame. Do you have volt/ohm meter?

It's either timing or fuel, I think.

Yours being EFI, it's probably fuel like the others suggested.

It wouldn't hurt to pull codes and check for vacuum leaks.
