I'm looking for a front bumper camera solution that works with our navigation system display. I've read in another post that this is possible with the aid of the latest lock pick devices. No one has yet posted a description and pictures of a solution.
I have a hard time seeing how close I am to other cars such as a mall parking lot. I want to be able to use an up fitter switch or push a button to initiate the camera. I have no interest in having a small piece of electronic hardware mounted in plain view of a thief.
Has anyone installed a front camera and if so what did you use? My selection will be a high quality camera that will not be influenced by the elements. Thank you in advance for your input.
Ive never had a problem pulling up close nose in..most of the time I have way more room then I thought.. For the most part 98 percent of the time im backing in because its much easier to get out of a parking space backed in then nose in cause of the turning radius.I really wouldnt have use for a front end camera. Im sure someone has done it somehow..Good luck
yep front camera would be a nice to have...
but as with most of my cars, I come to learn how close is close after a bit
and I too back in most of the time - easier and safer to pull out of a parking spot that way as you KNOW what is around you as you are parking...
I actually have a second camera, but am going to put it in the bed pointed at 5er hitch and tied to my garmin 5000 for a hitch camera for now...
Looks like Coastal E Tech did an update to their LockPick. It now allows you to have 2 cameras. It also no longer deactivates the navigation system while the LockPick is activated. It is on my wishlist now. This is probably what you are looking for.
The link below is a demonstration video and shows how it works with 2 cameras.
