Does anybody know if the Raptor front camera assembly will be able to plug and play right into the super duty factory navigation with rear camera? Just use one of the up fitter switches to turn it on? My brother ordered the Raptor and keeps bragging about the front camera. I ordered a 2012 F-350 and would love to throw a front camera in (plug and play no cutting wires etc) and **** him off!! Not to mention I think they should come standard with front camera's for parking and also lining up to drive into a snow plow??? Come on Ford lets get this front camera a factory option on the super duty!!!!
The answer to plug-n-play or any other installation method is going to be a unfortunate NO. The Raptor's front camera requires navigation and the navigation systems on the F-150 and Super Duty are different. The Raptor's front camera also uses a switching module that communicates with the BCM for system operation and the Super Duty BCM would not have the programming needed to control the switching module and camera. Lack of programming for the camera in the ACM would be another issue.
For reverse gear/reverse vehicle motion signalling on the normal (current) camera with the navigation system, is that condition conveyed via CAN bus or through on/off on a wire?

Prior to 2011 the Super Duty reverse camera was controlled on/off via the reversing lamps circuit. 2011+ reverse camera on/off control is a actual "communication" received from the BCM via MS-CAN on vehicles equipped with navigation and via LIN (Local Interconnect Network) on vehicles equipped with the mirror display.
If you have nav in your Super Duty you can buy a Lockpick for it which allows for a front camera installation.
+1 For the Lock Pic. Had one in my Jeep Rubicon and will be ordering one for the q250 soon. It will allow you to install a front camera, in addition to opening up all blocked features in your Nav system. Very Cool product. Their website is very informative.
I looked into the lock pick as I can't stand having a navigation system that you can't use while driving. If I did my research right I thought I read that you can NOT use a second camera with the lock pick on the new 2011/2012 super duty navigation system as they have not figured out how to do it yet. I will look into it more but if I am wrong I will be very happy!!!!

Your research into the LockPick and adding a second camera is correct based on everything I have seen as well. Early on it was said that support for a second camera was going to happen, but as people contacted Coastal Tech for updates all they were told is they are working on it and this went on for months. Then a member of TDS contacted Coastal Tech back at the beginning of September '11 and this was the response...
"Thanks for the email. Unfortunately, the ability to add a second camera will take more than an update to the LockPick. When a Ford vehicle has a reverse camera from the factory, the hardware necessary to input any additional video signals are not available to "tap" into. Until the Ford factory radio changes, there is nothing we can do about this issue. I would recommend contacting your local dealership about this issue.
If you are interested in unlocking navigation entry in motion, video play in motion, and having your factory camera viewable on demand then the Sync LP-1 is what you would need. I have included a link below.
Got the same answer from Lockpick supprt today. Cannot add 2nd camera to factory installed backup camera. Not sure if they just don't understand or don't want to. My understanding is that you can use their video harness to add a second camera, but cannot turn off the original camera since that is wired straight into the radio. Their harness provides the video input as well as two switched wires to activate two separate cameras. Could you take the switched 12V for the second camera and connect that to a relay that just cuts the video signal off from the factory camera when the second camera is selected in the lockpick? Hoping to make myself clear.

A number of lockpick owners (myself included) have requested that they add this functionality but it seems their product is limited, or they're not leaking any info as to when it may happen. Not sure on the workaround you listed above, but wanted to mention you're not the only one who has contacted them questioning the ability to add a 2nd camera.

Good to know. I was looking at this product for adding a front camera. Guess I'll just use my cheapo wireless system.

Does this mean that the 11+ super dutys with the backup camera in the mirror can't do the upfitter mod to make the camera come on at any time?
