Replacement c-6?
Looking to get a rebuilt c-6 for a 79 3/4 ton 4x4. Should I have someone local rebuild it or buy a reman unit from somewhere? I would like to spend less than $1200 for this. Thanks!

Should be easy to do that. This is about the highest price out there at $1269:
C6 4X4 with 8-inch spacer (351M-460) - TCI® Auto
If you have a shop that knows the C6 and has a good reputation, I would have them rebuild it. The beefy parts etc are pretty well known and readily available. jmo
