white smoke?

My buddy was following me. We were going down a hill. I let off the gas with the over drive off to slow for a stop light. Was pulling an empty car hauler. My buddy said there was 2 puffs of white smoke. Then it wouldn't do it again

I just left work maybe a Mile down the road. But before that about an hour before, I ran into town. Then I had the truck idling for about 10 min while I closed up shop. Then I headed out, and that's when I hit the down hill

So she should have been up to temp. I just changed the radiator, hoses, thermostat on Monday. Don't know if that had anything to do with it

white smoke is either coolant or unburnt fuel.

you can tell by the smell.if it smells sweet like coolant,or rich like fuel.
before i changed injectors, mine blew white smoke for a much longer time than it should at cold start.it made my eyes water when loading up the underbody tool boxes.
changed them and i had a smoother idle,no more engine stall on quick decel, and no more watery eyes in the morning loading tools.

sounds like it might just be a case of injectors not feeling to well.

Ok cool. Thanks. If it is them, should I replace them all? Where and what kind do I get?

Ok I finally saw it. I fired up the truck. The temp gauge was on cold. There was white puffs coming out . Then it was a solid light cloud. Smelt like a lot of diesel exhaust. When the temp got to the first line the smoke quit. Ran into town down the same hill, foot barely on the gas, the truck felt like it was cutting out. Put the pedal down and it runs fine. Still sound like injectors? I don't know if its just me but feels like the truck doesn't have the power.

i wouldn't even mess with the time or $ to have them tested.they sound long overdue for replacement to me.
once you replace 'em,then you'll see how obvious it is to come to this conclusion of worn out injectors.
she'll idle so smooth you'll think you swapped in a newer engine.power and economy will go up.
running rich smell will be gone, along with all but a tiny puff on start up and perhaps a small cloud in the winter for first min or two.
