AEM Brute Force CAI. I paid around $325 I think. I bought it 3 years ago. Before I found FTE. Most people think it is a waste and that they provide no benifets, other then looks. I think after being on this site I probably would not have bought it. But since I did I still use it.
I traded my K&N FIPK for a stock one.... straight across. That is what it was worth to me. I felt no difference in performance going back to stock. The K&N was way to noisy for me also. Love the sound of the exhaust, but not the intake.

Suckin' air like the vacuum that it is. The stock intake has baffles that reduce the noise without restricting air flow... much (maybe a little, but not enough for a V10).
seriously... dont bother.. you'll end up trying to find reasons to convince yourself it was worth the money and makes a difference. but in the end you'll be fooling yourself
on my 99, I enlarged the stock air box end that fits thru the front grill to 4" (simmilar to the Banks CAI) and added a stock replacement K&N filter. I also had a complete Borla header, y pipe and catback. The only time I noticed anything was when I would put the stock paper filter in while I cleaned the K&N. It felt doggy. I sure as heck wouldn't spend $300 on one.
I have an Airaid with the new dry type of filter. The only reason I got it was because the previous owner had an oily K&N factory type and they somehow managed to mangle the top and crack part of the air box. It doesn't do anything besides look nice and create a vacuum sound. I'm fine with that since I replaced the other guys f"up.
