When pulling a fifth wheel camper my truck seems to overheat when traveling at +55mph I have changed the thermostat water pump radiator fan clutch and flushed the system. Where else should I look Its a 6.0 motor never boiles over but the dash light still comes on after all the work. Any suggestions would be great
thanks vanderfp
I have read alot of issuses with the egr cooler and egr valve causing overheating and potential locking of the engine supposebly the the egr valve gets stuck and the egr cooler gets too hot causing the coolant to seep into the heads or evaporate from what i read. so check your coolant level always and clean your egr valve might help
If you can post up the actual temp reading, plus use the engine oil temp reading as a comparison, you'll be able to rule out a failed sensor/wiring harness issue, and maybe a whole set of other issues involving the oil system. Plus you can program is to read EGR valve position to see if that might be sticking.
Thanks I cleaned the EGR valve 6 months ago I can not hear the fan clutch enguage is there a way to test this circuit? Will check the other temps thank you all
