First let me say, this is the greatest site in the world !!!!!
That said, i own a 1996 F-150. It has 150000 miles on it , but runs great. My problem, it has developed a creeking noise in the front end. Most of the time it happens when turning and backing up. Any ideas? Ball joints, shocks or what? I have greased it and maintained it the best i could. Thanks for any help you guys can give me.

Are the original ball joints on there?
Mine went out at 124,000 miles.
It would creek and squeeek when I made turns.
The parts are not too expensive, but there is a bit of physical energy needed.
The new ball joints have grease fittings on them.
Good luck,
Gene

If you have loose steering it could be the ball joints. Usually they last for a very long time before going. We've had some come in with well over 200k and they are still on the factory ball joints.

If you hear squeeking, it might be wheel bearings.
