Long story short, for the trade in of my 99 Expy and 300.00 I am the proud owner of the 2000 Ex Limited V-10 4x4! Its got some very minor cosmetic issues, and before today was in desparate need of a tune up. It still wanders like a gypsy! But Ive waited for one of these beasts for 12 years since they came out, and it might as well be brand new (to me!) I look forward to sharing its progress with all of you!

Hey, me too! I traded my 97 Mustang Gt and a 01
Escort for my new 2000 X 5.4 Triton limited with leather and DVD/Nav. I'm
Excited!!! I've waited forever also! Glad to know I'm not the only one. Lol. Congrats on your new ride.
Well y'all aren't the only ones. Back in January I was hit by an F-250 while I was riding my scooter (major gas saver) home from work. Sold my 2001 F-150 5.4L and combined the insurance money and picked up a 2002 7.3L Limited
The Expy was valued at 3500.00, and I figured the dealer (with whom Ive since become friends with) paid about the same at auction. Apparently I was right! At the very least he ended up with a vehicle he could turn relatively quickly and I ended up with my beastie! Already replace one COP, with Motorcraft part, all plugs, and the reaining boots. Adjusted the steering box and got the wander taken care of. Installed the new Motorcraft T-stat and gasket this morning. Runs like a top now!
Gotta tell ya, I love driving this rig! Great ride, lots of power, and way comfy. Love the fact that my two kids can sit in different zip codes and they leave each other alone!
jepavek you beat my price, of $3995, for 2001 also have been wanting an F350 for about 12 years, now that I am old I don't need to haul anything large and nasty so the EX will do just fine for retirement. Replaced the grill and inside mirror first, door lock actuator's on front doors next.

How exactly did you adjust this?
What steps - is there a thread, etc?

Actuators!!!
Ok, I am a rookie also, just got my X 2 weeks ago
ALL of my lock actuators work - however will not move the locks enough to open/close the lock mechanism
Is it a rivet issue in the door that allows them to move?
Best fix~
Brandon my actuator works and I have only opened up the hatch to access the latch, and what I think will be needed for it is lubrication on all latch mechanism rub points and elimination of slack in the actuating rods and actuator to the latch mechanism. I also have discovered the end of one of the rods connecting the handle to the mechanism seems to bottom out on the inside of the hatch outside skin panel under the handle, which seems to stop unlatching movement of the handle.

I too just got mine - similar thing
Not sure how to link to other threads, but there is a "Comprehensive Steering Wander" thread on here, just do a quick search in this thread and it should pull it up. Cliff notes version is to expose the top your steering box, you'll see a 5/8" nut with a stud protrudig out from it. loosen the nut, and hold it withh 5/8" wrench and use an allen socket and swivel with an extension and a ratchet to carefully turn the stud clockwise, until slight resistance is felt, then back off 1/8th of a turn and snug up the nut. Some have adjusted these 1/4 turn at a time, others just go till the feel slight resistance, then back off. Either way its getting adjusted. Mine went from a two handed white knuckle ride, to a two finger pleasure cruise! Easy peasy lemon squeezy!
