Unhappy Temperature controls

My **** that controls the hot and cold for the heater does not seem to catch all of the time. I have to turn it back and forth a couple of times to go from cool air to hot air and back. Are they cable controls or electronic?

Had the same problem. Pull the temp control **** off and check to see if the female end of the **** is broken. Mine ended up being broken and all I needed to do was replace the ****. I originally thought the switch was bad and started to replace the switch. The switch is electitric and is mounted to the back of the face plate. **** at the Ford Stealer was $7 and switch was $15.
