vin decode please
I have a 1986 F150 supercab 2wd with the V8 302 5.0L engine. I am trying to figure out what kind of airstream i can tow. but I cannot pin down the type of transmission, rear end and rating for towing.
vin is 1FTEX15N1GKB21209
when i run it through the vin function on this site it tells me to enter a vin but doensn't give any information.

It will give you a bit more information, but the kind of stuff you're looking for can't be determined by just the VIN on something this old.
If you post a picture of the Certification Label on the driver's side door jamb, we can tell you more about what you have.
I have to say, though, an F150 with a 302, I don't know I'd recommend that for towing something as big as an Airstream.

Yep, the VIN will only tell us what engine it has, which you already said was a 302 EFI.
All of the info that pertains to your intended purpose is contained on the cert label.
However, if this truck has the AOD 4 speed auto, I wouldn't advise towing much with it. Certainly not an airstream, particularly in OD.
