So I am looking to buy some new kicks for my truck and feeling a bit indecisive. I am pretty much dead set on tire type and size: BFG A/T 33x12.5r15 I am willing to bend a bit on rim size but would like the diameter and width to be close to this. I am currently considering a 15x10 rim size.
The one thing I do know is I dont want a super flashy rim that looks like it belongs on an import. Beyond that something that will look good while tolerating actual useage.
This is what I currently have:
I am not opposed to even stickin with this style (I think they are affectionately referred to as wagon wheels) as it works; these rims are 15x8. They are also starting to rust heavily on the inside as well as some minor bending; they have to go. These tires couldnt dig there way out of a wet paper bag so they are gone to.
So I dont really have a preference over matte black or chrome or machined... (matte black with chrome nuts and center caps would probably look really nice in my mind) Or steel or alloy. I would like them to be priced under $150 each but ideally around $100. I just dont want something dumb.
Wagon wheels just seem to fit the personality of these rigs...Why not dare to be different and paint'em? I used a few cans of Rustoluem Hammerite Bronze.. for your rig, I suggest Hammerite Graphite (gray)... some masking paper, painter's tape, and a weekend and ya get a new look. I painted both the front and back sides.
What store did you grab that paint from??? Thinking about practicing on these wheels to see if I like it. I did an internet search and its coming up with two different brands; rustoleum and hammerite.

Rustoleum Hammered paint is what he was suggesting. Any hardware store Menards/Lowes/Home Depot or auto parts store should have it.
Thanks for filling in!
I started with white painted wagon wheels but starting with chrome wheels is okay too. First, clean and wet-sand with 320, then shoot some adhesion promoter (available at Pep Boys, AZ, or Oreillys), and then finally the color coats.
Aluminum slots are cool. I have a set of 15X10 Outlaw II's for sale, too!
It says here you are in the Missouri Chapter... I assume you are from Missouri. I am in California. Not sure what you were thinking in terms of price but it would have to be economical to justify considering the shipping costs as well as the time to clean them up. I saw some of these painted matte black and I really liked it.
Dirt I can deal with but have they been curbed at all or any other marring from rocks or what not? Are you equipped to remove tires or would you have to pay for it?

Is this yours? You complimented my truck in another thread... You gotta thing for short beds? BTW... Camo usually looks a bit to redneck for my tastes but yours is nice and clean. Almost militaristic.
I best be careful thrashing rednecks in an old Ford Truck thread... I grew up way out in the country so its in my blood but not the look I am going for with my truck.

That's my rig... Yeah, I like 4x4 shortbeds. The reason it looks "militaristic" is because I did a ton of research for camo patterns (SS Panzers, Korean War, Vietman) and went as far as finding an actual Army manual on camo paint schemes. I'm a USN veteran too.
I am what I am...and not Caucasian. But I did stay in TN and VA for over two years so being in the south I guess rubbed off on me... big NASCAR fan, armed to the teeth, and a conservative.... I get strange looks when people see me climb out of the truck.
