Project is on hold for a few days. Traveling out of town this week because dad is having surgery and he needs someone to look after him during recovery. Time off work puts a pinch in the wallet too.
Dad's surgery went very well. He is feeling great; almost like there was no surgery. I should be back on track soon.
First of all I am glad your Dad is doing ok. It is also nice to see that you are being a good son and looking after the old man. God bless ya for that.
Now as far as the dash goes I think you are doing a great job. And thank you for going to all the trouble of doing a write up on it. That alone is alot of work. I can apperciate all the thought put into making wiring harnesses. Which is a very nice touch and will be very helpful down the road when you have a problem. The harnesses and fuse block will make it so easy to solve whatever problem you may have down the road. Besides I agree it will "satisfy my OCD " I too have OCD and I can apperciate all the mental pain, hard work and hours spent going to the trouble of doing this.
Can you repost the completed and installed 650 lower dash picture, for some reason I cant see it. I want to do this to my truck, but I have a Jotto Desk on my hump and was wondering how much room the 65 dash takes up.
Thanks,
Sarge
P.S. I am glad your pops is well, and if anyone wants to donate to my sickness....uh truck fund you can
Trey I was wondering if you have made any more head way on this project. And I am so glad to see that you wired up a light for the flag! It Pi$$e$ me off when I see someone flying a flag after sunset with no light on the flag. And for those that don't know if a American flag is to be flown after sunset it must be lighted and the only time that does not hold true is if it is being flown on a boat or ship. There are many rules that people just don't know about flying a American flag and when they don't follow them it is a sign of disrespect.
So Trey thank you for all your hard work and showing the flag the respect it deserves !!

Actually, I havent made a lot of progress (any) because life has been getting in the way. I'm hoping that my new job will allow me to resume tinkering now that I am working more.
Subscribing! While I would prefer this on my F350 with ZF-6, I think it may go easier in the "new" supercharged Excursion! Thanks for the great pics and write-ups!! I Like the Carling switches too, I use them in my boat!
Thanks!

Things are starting to move along again. I've been redoing wiring that was not done properly lately, including getting ready for some more goodies.
Nothing but the flag light has been hooked up this whole time, but Monday I am expecting some off road lightage for the front of my truck.
So in preperation I have been redoing a lot of wiring and doing everything the right way, all at once. Switches, relays, fuse box, etc, all waiting for goodies to get hooked up as they come in.
Not everything is run yet, as you can see I have some coiled wires in the cubbie, which also is housing the relays. The fuse box is under the dash.. by the other fuse box. The switches have a pretty high load rating, but I decided to use relays anyway. Never know what I might hook onto these things.
So after this week or so, I should have all switches wired and ready to go, all I will need to do is buy goodies and hook them up with quick disconnect connectors.
First goodie is in the mail. 40" LED light bar. Should be here soon.
Like the work so far, looks good. One thing I might add is to make sure to solder connections are good. Having a COLD solder connection can be a pain when it comes to troubleshooting later on if it ever happens.
